Local Development Framework: Proposed submission core strategy and proposed submission Hinckley town centre area action plan: Invitation to make representations.

Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council have published the proposed submission Core Strategy and proposed submission Hinckley Town Centre Area Action Plan. These documnets are now available for representations to be made prior to submission and independent examination. These two documents will form a key part of the Local Development Framework and will guide future development within Hinckley and Bosworth Borough.

What are we inviting representations on?
The Local Development Framework is a folder of planning documents that will replace the existing Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Local Plan. Following previous consultation, the Borough Council have produced the final (proposed submission) versions of:

• Core Strategy Development Plan Document (DPD) - This document sets out the general spatial vision and objectives for the delivery of Hinckley and Bosworth's Local Development Framework. The document outlines the broad locations proposed for housing development, together with other strategic needs such as employment, retail and transport development.

• Hinckley Town Centre Area Action Plan - the Area Action Plan focuses upon the delivery of regeneration in Hinckley town centre focussing on 10 key redevelopment sites. The plan also sets out the policy framework against which planning applications within the town centre will be assessed.

These documents have been published in order for representations to be made prior to submission to the Secretary of State. The representation will be considered alongside the submitted Core Strategy & Hinckley Town Centre Area Action Plan, which will be examined by a Planning Inspector. The purpose of the examination is to consider whether the DPD complies with the legal requirements and is 'sound'.

• If you are seeking to make representations on the way in which the LPA has prepared the published DPD it is likely that your comments or objections will relate to a matter of legal compliance.
• If it is the actual content on which you wish to comment or object it is likely it will relate to whether the DPD is justified, effective or consistent with national policy (ie whether it is 'sound').

Further explanation on the representation process is available from the publication stage representation form available on the council's website and included in both the proposed submission Core Strategy & the propsed submission Hinckley Town Centre Area Action Plan.
