Leicestershire parents are being warned to be on their guard against bogus callers.
The County Council wants to reassure people that children's centre staff are not currently visiting residents and would encourage them to report any suspicious incidents to the police.
Children's centre staff would visit by appointment only and would have County Council identification.
The report involved someone visiting a house in Glenfield on Thursday (6th November) and claiming to be carrying out a survey.
