18/12/2008 - ESBF Committee Meeting Minutes |
Committee Meeting 20th November 2008 Held at the Comfort Inn.
Present: Rob Phelps, Koreen Hubbard, Steve Hardy, Ian Sasse, Mark Davies.
Company Limited by guarantee: SH has agreed to chase up Justin to confirm the legal process so far and to ensure completion by the end of the year.
Agenda for next Meeting: Election of Officers including Company Secretary, Trainer, Chairman. Nominations are going to be required. Need to encourage others to volunteer. i.e. Roy Bywater.
Financial Report is also required. Again SH will encourage Justin to complete the year end accounts ready for announcement at the next meeting.
Other considerations: Does the forum have a time scale? How is the forum perceived by other committees and organisations such as County & Borough Council? Are our members aware how much their opinions count for the future development of the community?
CCTV: SH has had a local Company quote for his own CCTV System that the police have agreed would be suitable for them to convict if any information was collected. It has been suggested that others in the community might also be able to consider this option, particularly if funding was available. Other quotes from local forum members might be considered to obtain a comparison.
Questionnaire: KH has compiled an initial questionnaire which it is felt would have a powerful impact when attending the Town Centre Regeneration Meetings. The TCP are looking for all member opinions and ideas to regenerate the town. KH has volunteered to gather completed questions, although sending them out by email should also be considered.
Other Communications: Should we consider a newsletter or an e letter that can keep people up to date. It would need someone to take control of it.
Locality Card System: Is this something we could consider to encourage people into the town? If so, what format could it take?
Training: The forum has an allocated budget, still unspent, that is available for any form of training. This can be made available to members. Applicants need to be encouraged. SH is preparing a date for the first aid, one day training programme. Date to be confirmed.
Premises off Doctors Fields: MD asked who owns the building next to the football ground, as he feels it would make an excellent community centre for meetings etc. SH said he would make enquires otherwise place to check is land registry. IS did agree that all sorts of funding can be available if we pursued the renovation of a community building.
Future Meetings: December Forum Meeting: Thursday December 11th – to include AGM at 4.30pm
