Letter to Earl Shilton Business Forum;
At Heath lane Surgery we are interested in establishing a Patient Participation Group (PPG). This group would meet on a voluntary basis once every six weeks or so. Meeting times would be during the day or in the evenings, depending on what best suits participants, with each meeting lasting one to one-and-a-half hours.
The practice has approached you, or the group you represent, to see if there are any members registered with the practice with an interest in representing the patient’s view. Ideally members would commit for a one year term of office to promote continuity.
The purpose of the group is to:
• Raise issues that are of concern to patients
• Comment on initiatives being proposed by the practice
The meeting will be attended by a GP, Practice Nurse and the Practice Manager in addition the patient representatives. Other members of the practice team may be invited as appropriate. The aim is for the meetings to be relaxed and informative whilst continually striving to improve the care and services practice patients receive.
