Earl Shilton Business Forum Meeting 17th Dec 2009 – Constitutional Club – Forum

AGM Open
RP opened the meeting and thanked everyone for attending and read out the report – see separate.

Accounts Justin Robins went through the years accounts, according to these we have around £4,000 in the bank.

Acceptance of the Constitution RP went through some changes which he felt should be made to the constitution; Remove 4.1.5Diversity co-ordinator and add Grants. 5.3 last word should be meetings and not members. 5.5 should be “chaired by the..” These changes were voted unanimously. RP to make the changes.

Election of Officers RP said he was standing down as Chairman this year and so opened the floor for nominations – SH said he would take it over, all officers and members were elected as follows;

Treasurer – Justin Robins
Marketing – Mark Davies
Training – Richard Craddock
Grants – Rob Phelps
Committee Member – Keith Howkins
Committee Member – Glen Patterson

Creative Spaces RC gave an update on the artist’s exhibition he ran at his premises in Desford, which went very well. He also discussed the Creative Spaces initiative with a number of the artists and reported that the idea was very well received.
JS talked about making Earl Shilton an “Art Town” which would be a great way to promote the town. She also suggested displays in pubs with pictures for sale.

Future Meetings The regularity of future meetings was discussed, RP suggested we just have committee meetings and invite “the public” to every other meeting. The Town Council has open meetings every time, and then a closed section at the end.
The general decision was made to leave things as they are i.e. committee meeting on the 2nd Thurs of each month, forum meetings on the 3rd Thurs of every other month, Feb, Apr, Jun, then reassess.

Additional 2k Houses JC told us about an area on the HBBC website which she says is not very easy to find, she suggested we find the area and put a link to it on the forum website
